Conni VanBilliard, MEd, CTRS, CCLS
Ms. VanBilliard is a Nationally Certified Child Life Specialist and Recreation Therapist with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies and a Master of Arts Degree in Education. As a Child Life Specialist at a major children’s hospital for more than 20 years, she has worked in the Pediatric Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and outpatient areas. In addition, she has provided education and support to children with family members in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and adult care units. She specializes in working with children with significant healthcare anxiety as well as helping children and their families during medical crises, including bereavement.
Ms. VanBilliard has extensive experience in speaking to children, their families, and professionals about a wide variety of health and safety topics. Her presentations range from small groups of children to national professional organizations.
For the last four years, she has been a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, with a specialty in medical and special needs.
Ms. VanBilliard has devoted her life to improving healthcare experiences for children, their families, and the healthcare professionals that care for them. Her greatest joy is seeing children she has worked with approach future medical experiences with confidence and a smile.
