In 2012, a courageous 12 year old girl named Jessie Rees lost her 10 month long battle with brain cancer. Before she died, Jessie asked her parents to help encourage every kid fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up. They created this foundation in her honor. They have a program called the Year of Joy, which offers encouragement and support for kids diagnosed with cancer. They also send Joy Jars to many hospitals across the country, full of small toys and activities to brighten a child’s day. One of the things I love most about this group is their focus on encouraging kids to help kids- it’s a great way for schools and youth groups to support children being treated for cancer!
